Graduation - Thursday, May 30th 6:00 p.m.
Graduation is Thursday, May 30th from 6:00-6:30 p.m. at Vineville Baptist Church. This is a special time for all of our students and families as well as our last celebration as a community before we all embark on our summer adventures. In addition, we will also be celebrating Ms. Valerie’s years of service to MOM as she transitions into retirement. Students who will be moving into a new classroom in July will “graduate”. These students will be recognized by their teachers with a certificate and a beautiful sunflower. While only the students moving into a new classroom will receive a graduation certificate, ALL the MOM students participate in the ceremony. When the graduating students have been recognized, all the students in their “new” classroom will welcome them with greetings and handshakes. It is truly a wonderful ceremony and we want all the MOM children to come! After the ceremony, you are invited to stay and enjoy food and good company. You can pre-order a sandwich box (catered by Fountain of Juice) or bring your own food. If you would like to pre-order a box, order forms must be submitted to the office by THIS Thursday, May 23rd. Additional order forms are available in the school office. Sandwich boxes will only be available to those who have pre-ordered.
School Pictures are ready to view!
It was a pleasure to take your child's photograph this week. They are all wonderful and made my job very easy. I know you are anxious to see them, here's how. This Monday, you will receive a 4" x 6" photo proof of your child along with an order form attached to the Monday Messenger. This photo is yours to keep with my compliments. But you don't have to wait until Monday. All the photos have been uploaded to the internet and are ready to view. I have included links to each group at the bottom of this email. (You must use the password distributed last week - if you have lost it, please call the MOM office for help.) You must place your order with payment on the attached order form by Friday, April 19th to receive the "Create your own package" discount. This not only gives you up to a 30% discount, but you will also save on the shipping and handling fee. You may mail the order form to the address on the form or return to the school office. I will deliver the photos to school for distribution by Monday, April 29th. On-line ordering will be available after Friday, April 19th, but the "Create your own package" discounts will not and you will also have to pay shipping. IMPORTANT: To ensure you get the correct photo and pose, please include the image number(s) from either the back of the proof photo, or the image number listed at the bottom of each photo on-line. Music & Munchies - Saturday, April 20th 4-6 pm
Music & Munchies is an annual event held for MOM families. During this event, families are able to kick back and relax while enjoying great music, food and fun. Each family packs their own picnic. We provide the entertainment! There will be a bouncy house for the younger children and an obstacle course for the older children. MOM students will be performing throughout the event. All you need to bring is a picnic for your family, lawn chairs or a picnic blanket, and of course YOU! Rain cancels this event. Please make sure you are on our e-mail distribution list, our Facebook group page and you are checking our school website regularly.
Preparing for College 101 (for parents & students)
This Thursday, April 4th at 6 pm Jana Peacock, MOM Parent, will be presenting information about College Preparation, Funding your Education, Getting into College, the Application process, etc. Do you have questions about filling out the FAFSA, applying for HOPE, etc? Come to this informational meeting to find out more. It’s never too early to start thinking about college!
Peace Pole Presentations – Friday, February 22nd
Due to the current weather forecast for tomorrow, the Peace Pole presentations will be in the classrooms instead of outside. Please go to your child(ren)’s classroom to see their presentation. Presentations will begin at the following times: Toddler: 11:30 am Primary: 11:45 am Lower Elementary: 11:30 am Upper Elementary & Middle Years: 12 pm– Presentation for both held in the Upper Elementary Classroom As a reminder, if you plan on eating pizza with your child and staying for lunch you must send in your pizza order with money by 9:00 am with your child. Financial Aid Applications Available
Financial Aid Applications for the upcoming 2013-14 school year are available on this website, via email or picked up in the school office. In order to submit an application for Financial Aid you must either be a currently enrolled student or have submitted an Application for Admission. Completed Financial Aid applications along with supporting documents are due in the school office by 4:00 pm on Friday, February 22nd. There are no exceptions to this deadline. Tour of Lessons - Thursday, January 17th
Our annual Tour of Lessons for currently enrolled families is Thursday, January 17th. Toddler and Primary students will present lessons to their parents in their respective classrooms from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Then ALL parents are invited to the Elementary and Middle/High classrooms to see lessons demonstrated by students in those classrooms (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.). Open House - Sunday, January 27th from 1-3 pm
We will be having an Open House for prospective families on Sunday, January 27th from 1-3 pm. This is a great time for interested families to come tour the school, look inside the classrooms and ask any questions you may have. Winter Break, December 17th-January 1st
School will be closed December 17th-January 1st for Winter Break. We will resume on Wednesday, January 2nd. We hope everyone has a good break and look forward to seeing everyone on the 2nd.
