Music & Munchies - Saturday, April 25th 11-1 pm
Mark your calendar and save the date! Music & Munchies will be Saturday, April 25th from 11-1 pm. Music & Munchies is an annual event held for MOM friends and families. During this event, families are able to kick back and relax while enjoying great music, food and fun. Each family packs their own picnic. We provide the entertainment! There will be a bouncy house for the younger children and an obstacle course for the older children. MOM students will be performing throughout the event. This year we will also have a silent auction!! Bring your chairs, blankets, etc., pack a picnic for your family and come enjoy a great afternoon.
School Pictures THIS Tuesday and Friday!
We want to welcome everyone back from Spring break! Don't forget - school pictures are this week. Toddler, Lower Elementary and Middle/High students will be taking pictures tomorrow, March 31st. Primary and Upper Elementary students will be taking pictures on Friday, April 3rd. Please make sure your child arrives to school on time those mornings as pictures will begin first thing in the morning.
1:00 Dismissal - THIS Friday, March 6th
This Friday, March 6th, is the last day of session 3 and school will dismiss at 1:00. There is NO Aftercare. ALL students dismiss at 1:00 pm. Have a great spring break!
Peace Pole - February 27th at 11:00 am
Please make plans to attend our annual Peace Pole Ceremony Friday, February 27th at 11:00 am. Children have prepared songs, poems and much more. Every child has a part! After the ceremony ends feel free to join your child for Pizza! If you plan on eating lunch with your child after the ceremony, make sure you place your pizza order in the morning and send payment with your child. Pizza orders must be in by 9 am. Pizza is $1.50 per slice with the option of cheese or pepperoni.
15-16 Financial Aid Applications Available
Financial Aid Applications for the upcoming 2015-16 school year are available on this website, via email or can be picked up in the school office. In order to submit an application for Financial Aid you must either be a currently enrolled student or have submitted an Application for Admission. Completed Financial Aid applications along with supporting documents are due in the school office by 4:00 pm on Friday, February 27th. There are no exceptions to this deadline. Open House - January 25, 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Interested in learning more about a Montessori education for your child? Curious about the programs offered at Montessori of Macon? Please join us for a "drop-in" style Open House on Sunday, January 25th from 1:00 to 4:00. We invite families to tour our campus, see our classrooms and meet our Montessori of Macon staff. Save the date - Winter Performance is Saturday, December 6th at 10:00 am
Montessori of Macon will hold our annual Winter Performance on Saturday, December 6th at 10:00 am. This performance will be held at the Douglass Theatre. Our Primary through High School students will be performing various skits, songs and dances. You don't want to miss it!
Culture Fest - THIS Sunday, November 2nd 1-3 PM
MOM's annual Culture Fest is this Sunday from 1-3pm. Come out for great food, fun and performances! Don't forget to bring your blanket and chairs. See everyone there!!
Parent Education Night: Thursday, October 23rd 6-7 PM
We are excited to have three different sessions available for MOM’s Parent Education Night this Thursday night from 6-7 pm. Please join us to hear one of the following sessions: Nutrition and the Young Child (suggested for Toddler and Primary parents) - held in the Lower Elementary 2 classroom. Kajal Patel, MOM parent and Certified Nutritional Consultant, will share tips and ideas to keep our children healthy. Logical and Natural Consequences (suggested for parents of children ages 3-12) - held in the Middle/High classroom. Elizabeth Irwin, MOM Education Director and Active Parenting Leader, will share tips and techniques for adding logical and natural consequences to our parenting “tool kit”. Reading Aloud with the Older Child (suggested for parents of children ages 6-12) - held in the Upper Elementary classroom. Laura Mason, adjunct professor at Middle Georgia State College and retired Houston County literacy coach/ teacher, will lead a discussion on this topic as well as give parents ideas and resources. Financial Aid Night (College bound) - Thursday, October 16th at 6 pm
We will be hosting a Financial Aid Night for students and parents interested in learning more about the HOPE program and other options for funding college. A college representative will also be discussing Dual Enrollment opportunities for High School students. The meeting will be held in the Middle/High classroom on Thursday, October 16th at 6 pm.
