It's Pansy Sale Time!

It's that time again!! The annual Pansy Sale has started! Orders should be submitted to the office by October 14th along with payment. Annual General Meeting September 3rd, 5:45-6:45 p.m.

Montessori of Macon will hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 3rd in the Middle/High classroom. The purpose of this meeting is to present our Annual Report, elect members for our Board of Directors, and to discuss areas of focus for the 15-16 school year. During this meeting we will elect new Board of Director members. This Year we have 2 positions on our Board of Directors open for election. Attached to the Monday Messenger (8/10/15) you will find the applications that have been submitted. Please review this information in preparation for the upcoming AGM. This meeting is for adults only. If you need childcare for the AGM, you still have time to reserve space by calling or emailing the office ( Childcare is available to currently enrolled students only.

Planning for College Dual Enrollment/Financial Aid Opportunities August 20th 6-7 p.m.

Did you know high school students could earn college credit while in high school? Did you know there is a program that will pay the cost of tuition for those college classes? Join us Thursday, August 20th to learn about Dual Enrollment for high school students as well as Financial Aid options. It is never too early to get a head start on college planning! Even if your student is not yet in high school this is a great informational session that will give you a glimpse of what will be available to your student in the future. Maggie Schuyler from Middle Georgia State University will be discussing the changes to the Dual Enrollment program, if you attended our Financial Aid/Dual Enrollment night last year, you will want to hear what is NEW this year! Maggie will be speaking to parents about the HOPE program: HOPE scholarship, Zell Miller scholarship, HOPE grant, and Zell Miller grant. She will also talk about the student access loan opportunities through GSFC. The basics of financial aid and how to properly plan for the costs of college will also be covered. Do you know the GPA requirements to be eligible for these scholarships? Come and find out on Thursday night! This meeting will be held in the Middle/High classroom. See you there!

Welcome to our 2015/16 School Year!

Welcome back! We were excited to see both familiar and new faces on Monday as we started our new school year. For current families, we have a Parent Breakfast this Friday, July 17th from 8:30-9:00 a.m. This is a great time for our families to meet each other while enjoying refreshments. Even though the school year has already begun, we still have a few openings for this current school year in some of our classrooms. For prospective families interested in learning more about Montessori of Macon, please call our office at 478-757-8927 to find out more about our programs.

New School Year Starts July 13th - Parent Orientation Schedule

Our upcoming 2015/16 school year will begin on Monday, July 13th. Listed below are the dates/ times for our upcoming classroom Parent Orientations: Toddler 1 & 2 - July 9th 5:30 p.m. - 6:30p.m., Primary 1 & 2 - July 11th 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Lower Elem. 1 - July 9th 5:30 p.m., Lower Elem. 2 - July 9th 6:00p.m., Upper Elem - July 16th 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Middle/High July 14th 5:00 p.m.

Graduation & Farewell Celebration - Thursday, May 28th 6:00 pm

Graduation is THIS Thursday, May 28th from 6:00-6:30 p.m. This is a special time for all of our students and families as well as our last celebration as a community before we all embark on our summer adventures. This event is for ALL students. Students who are moving up into a new classroom will receive a certificate and be welcomed by their new classmates. This year, we will also be celebrating the graduation of our first MOM senior. You do not want to miss this event! At 6:30 p.m. we will have a Farewell Celebration to honor Ms. Elizabeth’s retirement. Following this celebration, you are invited to stay and enjoy food and good company. Plates are available for those who have pre-ordered. If you haven’t pre-ordered a plate you are welcome to bring a picnic dinner and join us.

Middle/High Performance of Macbeth - Thursday, May 21st 6:30 pm

Thursday, May 21st at 6:30 p.m. the Middle/High students will be performing their rendition of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free! The performance will be held at the Douglass Theatre - 355 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd Macon, GA 31201. A word of caution: because of the dark nature of this play it may not be suitable for younger students. There will be sword fighting onstage and mention of murder throughout the play.

Music & Munchies Online Auction now open for bidding!

The online Music & Munchies auction is now open for bidding! Please visit: to view and bid on items. Bidding will be open through Wednesday, May 6th at 8:30 pm. Come into the office to view any of the auction items as naturally, pictures cannot do them justice. Happy bidding!

Music & Munchies - CANCELLED

Due to the forecast of inclement weather tomorrow, unfortunately, Music & Munchies has been cancelled. The event itself will not be rescheduled, however, we will still hold an auction at a future date (in person or online). As soon as we have details in place for the auction we will let you know. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Music & Munchies - Saturday, April 25th 11-1 pm

Mark your calendar and save the date! Music & Munchies will be Saturday, April 25th from 11-1 pm. Music & Munchies is an annual event held for MOM friends and families. During this event, families are able to kick back and relax while enjoying great music, food and fun. Each family packs their own picnic. We provide the entertainment! There will be a bouncy house for the younger children and an obstacle course for the older children. MOM students will be performing throughout the event. This year we will also have a silent auction!! Bring your chairs, blankets, etc., pack a picnic for your family and come enjoy a great afternoon.
