Currently enrolling for the 16-17 school year

Now is the time to put in your application for the 16-17 school year! If you would like to learn more about Montessori of Macon please call the school office at 757-8927 to schedule a school tour and an observation of our classrooms. We have programs for toddler through high school students.

Tour of Lessons - This Thursday, January 21st

Our annual Tour of Lessons for currently enrolled families is Thursday, January 21st. Toddler and Primary students will present lessons to their parents in their respective classrooms from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Then ALL parents are invited to the Elementary and Middle/High classrooms to see lessons demonstrated by students in those classrooms (6:30 to 7:15 p.m.). The students have been working hard and are excited to share their work with you.

Open House, January 31st 1-4 p.m.

Interested in learning more about a Montessori education for your child? Curious about the programs offered at Montessori of Macon? Please join us for a "drop-in" style Open House on Sunday, January 31st from 1:00 to 4:00. We invite families to tour our campus, see our classrooms and meet our Montessori of Macon staff. Winter Performance - Thursday, December 10th at 6:15 p.m.

Montessori of Macon's annual Winter Performance will be held Thursday, December 10th at 6:15 p.m. at the Douglass Theatre. Doors open at 6:00. Admission is free! We hope to see everyone there!

School hours during the week of Thanksgiving

Just a reminder, school dismisses at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25th. The school is completely closed on November 26th and 27th. Thank you.

Culture Fest Cancelled

Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast for tomorrow, Culture Fest is cancelled. The decision had to be made today to give the performers sufficient notice as well as the families who were planning to cook dishes for the event. With the approaching holidays and the performer's schedules we are unable to reschedule. We apologize for this inconvenience and are just as disappointed. We hope everyone has a good weekend.

It's Pansy Sale Time!

It's that time again!! The annual Pansy Sale has started! Orders should be submitted to the office by October 14th along with payment. Ask friends, relatives, neighbors, ext. to order some of these beautiful flowers. This is one of two annual fundraisers for the school. Don't miss out! Place your orders now! Pansy Sale Order Form

Annual General Meeting September 3rd, 5:45-6:45 p.m.

Montessori of Macon will hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 3rd in the Middle/High classroom. The purpose of this meeting is to present our Annual Report, elect members for our Board of Directors, and to discuss areas of focus for the 15-16 school year. During this meeting we will elect new Board of Director members. This Year we have 2 positions on our Board of Directors open for election. Attached to the Monday Messenger (8/10/15) you will find the applications that have been submitted. Please review this information in preparation for the upcoming AGM. This meeting is for adults only. If you need childcare for the AGM, you still have time to reserve space by calling or emailing the office ( Childcare is available to currently enrolled students only.

Planning for College Dual Enrollment/Financial Aid Opportunities August 20th 6-7 p.m.

Did you know high school students could earn college credit while in high school? Did you know there is a program that will pay the cost of tuition for those college classes? Join us Thursday, August 20th to learn about Dual Enrollment for high school students as well as Financial Aid options. It is never too early to get a head start on college planning! Even if your student is not yet in high school this is a great informational session that will give you a glimpse of what will be available to your student in the future. Maggie Schuyler from Middle Georgia State University will be discussing the changes to the Dual Enrollment program, if you attended our Financial Aid/Dual Enrollment night last year, you will want to hear what is NEW this year! Maggie will be speaking to parents about the HOPE program: HOPE scholarship, Zell Miller scholarship, HOPE grant, and Zell Miller grant. She will also talk about the student access loan opportunities through GSFC. The basics of financial aid and how to properly plan for the costs of college will also be covered. Do you know the GPA requirements to be eligible for these scholarships? Come and find out on Thursday night! This meeting will be held in the Middle/High classroom. See you there!

Welcome to our 2015/16 School Year!

Welcome back! We were excited to see both familiar and new faces on Monday as we started our new school year. For current families, we have a Parent Breakfast this Friday, July 17th from 8:30-9:00 a.m. This is a great time for our families to meet each other while enjoying refreshments. Even though the school year has already begun, we still have a few openings for this current school year in some of our classrooms.
