Montessori of Macon's Campus Development

New Upper Elementary and Middle/High Classrooms

In the Fall of 2013, Montessori of Macon expanded their school campus to provide new Upper Elementary and Middle/ High classrooms. These new classrooms are spacious and customized to meet the developmental needs for those students. Each classroom has a full kitchen and lots of windows overlooking the wooded setting and creek along the back of the school campus.

Montessori of Macon has MOVED!!!

We are excited to announce the opening of our new school campus located at 855 Tolliver Place, Macon, Georgia. Last year, our school purchased 9.3 acres nestled in the woods and bordered by two streams. For the 2009/10 school year, we opened our Toddler and Primary programs on our new campus. During the summer of 2010, we moved our remaining classrooms - Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary and Middle Years. Our entire school community is excited to have everyone on our new campus ... surrounded by natural resources ... and enjoying our brand new, spacious Montessori classrooms.

Opening Phase 1 of our new campus!

We are pleased to announce the opening of Phase 1 of our new school campus. Beginning with the upcoming 2009/10 school year, our school will offer eight authentic, multi-age Montessori classrooms for Toddler (18 months) through ninth grade, designed to:

  • Encourage independence;
  • Nurture self-discipline;
  • Inspire self-motivation; and
  • Create freedom of choice within boundaries

Good News

On November 14, 2008, Montessori of Macon purchased 9.3 acres at 855 Tolliver Place. This will be the site of our new campus and school home.

This beautiful land has many hard woods and a babbling brook which will engage all of our children in learning about the natural world. Its secluded and serene location will nurture the children with a sense of peace and a connection with their universe. This will be a place of wonder and joy for all of our families.

The contribution and support of the Montessori of Macon community continue to move us forward and allow us to expand our mission to “Educate the Whole Child for a Whole World” in our new home. Although this has been a long process, the perseverance and commitment of our Montessori of Macon Board, past and present, has been vital in bringing us to this point. The Building Committee continues to work tirelessly and must be applauded for its diligence and oversight. We also thank our guarantors who have made this endeavor possible for our school and its children.

Phase 1 of our new school campus will include our Toddler program (18 months to 36 months) and our Primary program (3 to 6 years old). This first Phase of our new campus will be open for the 2009/10 school year. In addition to building a new campus we are excited to have the space to expand our programming to offer a full-day Toddler program to the Middle Georgia area.
